Year of the Tiger

#70. Donate something – Done!

I donated $25 to the World Wildlife Fund last week. I would’ve loved to donate $500, but the honest truth is I just don’t have much lately. But when you think about it, if everyone donated a dollar…well you know what I’m eluding to.

Obviously, I have a soft spot for animals. That’s my main focus when it comes to donating and volunteering. It breaks my heart that habitats for these beautiful creatures are being destroyed. I wish I could do more, but I’ll do as much as I can for now.

2010 is the Year of the Tiger. Did you know tigers are the largest of the big cats? Yet, despite their size they are the most threatened species on the earth. It’s pretty sad that their numbers are dwindling and with all of our effort, they are endangered. Their lives are threatened by poachers and habitat loss from illegal logging and commercial plantations. So what can YOU do to help these beatiful beasts?

You can read more about tigers and what you can do to help at the World Wildlife Fund website. You can even adopt a tiger. Packages including photos and stuffed animals are priced from $25 to $250. That’d make a cute Christmas gift for a tiger lover. If only I knew someone who loved tigers as much as me! (Or choose any other species they have on their website…even sea turtles and dolphins!)

You can even donate $75 and get a neat reusable WWF bag to hold groceries or whatever your heart desires – and 100% of your proceeds go to helping our planet’s fragile animals – while going green. Then use it as a tax write off come tax season. But I’m done pushing my “save the tigers” speech on you! (I really am not trying to be pushy, I swear!)

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend, it is getting a little bit too cold here in Chicagoland. And I can’t believe Thanksgiving is so close!

if you don’t live for something, you’ll die for nothing.

  1. Hello, thanks for visiting my blog http://www.creatorscreatures.blogspot.com
I like the WWF too and I love Tigers. Over the years we've donated many places including The crocodile hunters zoo. When my boys were little they picked out a turtle to adopt online and then at the Grizzly Wolf Discover Center in Montana we've adopted wolves and grizzly bears. It's great way to support what matters to you and help take care of the wonderful creatures on our planet. Thanks for sharing this post!

Jessi, I've decided to follow you because your posts are awesome~~ Also, I too have an incredibly soft, gushy spot for animals. Sometimes I find myself bending over backwards for mine more than I would a person.

    ♥~
