Book Review: Firelight

London, 1881

Once the flames are ignited . . .
Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family’s fortune decimated and forced her to wed London’s most nefarious nobleman.

They will burn for eternity . . .
Lord Benjamin Archer is no ordinary man. Doomed to hide his disfigured face behind masks, Archer knows it’s selfish to take Miranda as his bride. Yet he can’t help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn’t felt in a lifetime. When Archer is accused of a series of gruesome murders, he gives in to the beastly nature he has fought so hard to hide from the world. But the curse that haunts him cannot be denied. Now, to save his soul, Miranda will enter a world of dark magic and darker intrigue. For only she can see the man hiding behind the mask.

Beautifully written and sexy! This book will definitely light your fire.
Firelight by Kristen Callihan is a was much better than I had anticipated. It quickly joined the ranks of my favorites and I will definitely be following along with the series. I am already excited for the release of Moonglow, featuring Miranda’s sister.

This book will remind you of a grittier, sexier version of Beauty and the Beast. By page 20, I couldn’t put this book down. Ms. Callihan did a wonderful job of keeping us guessing in this paranormal murder mystery. And it sure doesn’t fall short in the romance category either.

The book is based in London in the 1800’s. The imagery is amazing and Ms. Callihan’s vivid descriptions make you feel as though you are right there with the characters.

Miranda Fair is a firecracker. She’s my type of girl – brave, bold, and beautiful. Lord Archer is mysterious, generous man whom you will be drawn to from the beginning. Have no fear, this is not your average love-at-first-sight-sickenly-sweet paranormal romances. This is a gritty Gothic romance that will leave you wanting more.

I adored this book from first page to last. Any readers interested in short but sweet stories, romances, and fairytale-retellings will surely enjoy this one!

You can purchase this book at Barnes and Noble!

I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
