Famous Dave’s Self Tanner

Who wants to be pasty and white all winter long? Not me! But I also don’t want to spend all my free time at the tanning salon soaking up some rays (and skin cancer and freckles). This is where sunless tanners come into play. And don’t even get me started on how many products I’ve tried that have turned me an unnatural orange hue or have globbed and streaked with even the most careful application and best of all those products that wear off on your clothing even days after you first apply it.

I’m pale to the point of being translucent. “Fair” would be an understatement. But with dark hair and light eyes, it makes for a strange combination. I like to try and keep that sun-kissed glow I’m so envious of, but I’m not willing to spend time under artificial, harmful sunlight to do so. Famous Dave’s Tanner to the rescue! Dave’s Tanner is supposed to be famous because of three main factors: low odor, true color, and smooth application. But what makes this tanner truly stand out is that all of the above are actually true.

Famous Dave’s Moisture Tan is low odor. Unlike some of the sunless tanners that try and mask the DHA scent with a montage of perfumes, Dave keeps his fragrance free. It only has that very subtle scent most unscented lotions have, and even that dissipates quickly as the product works its magic. After a few hours you can smell the DHA, but only very lightly – it is nothing like most sunless tanning lotions. Dave says fragrances intensify the smell of the DHA and after trying this product, I believe it!

Application is a breeze! Lotions, creams, gels, and sprays – there are plenty of forms of sunless tanners that claim to be “easy” to use. But when it’s all said and done you are striped and uneven. I was a bit nervous at first since the lotion is slightly opaque and needs some rubbing in but after further review, that’s what I needed, a product that forces you to rub it in evenly and thoroughly. I especially love that there’s a card attached that tells you how many pumps you should use on each body part.

Once it has dried, you don’t worry about ruining clothing and bedding. I’m still bitter about ruining one of my favorite white summer dresses thanks to a claim on a sunless tanner that it wouldn’t come off with sweat or moisture. Not to worry, though, Famous Dave’s won’t do you like that. Once the lotion has dried you don’t have to worry about leaving orange tint all over everything you touch.

The end result? A completely believable tan! This amazing lotion works is a mere four hours. Within a couple of hours, a true tan builds and after four to six hours you are left with a sun-kissed glow. There’s no orange hue or outrageous dark tan left behind. Your friends will be asking you if you went on vacation to a tropical location – mine did!

Overall, Famous Dave’s Tanner is the best I’ve ever tried. (I can assure you I’ve tried at least 40 different kinds!) This product will work wonderfully for those of us with even the lightest skin. And it’s perfect for anyone who wants an unscented product that won’t assault your senses during application. I can’t believe I hadn’t found my sunless savior until now.

Thanks Famous Dave, I no longer have to wander through life white and pasty!
