My Bad Habit

I am what I would like to call a chubaholic. I am chubby and I love eating. I do try my hardest to eat healthy but sometimes the lines blurr and I get really confused about just exactly what is healthy. But I have this terrible habit.

The nice people in my boyfriend and I’s life enjoy buying us food items, candy, chips, and otherwise unhealthy snacks. While I am grateful that they pay enough attention to us to know what our favorite candies and treats are, I have no willpower. And I’m not kidding. I have none. Major personality flaw. So what do I do when these snacks enter my humble abode? Pawn as much of it off on unsuspecting Mr. Man.

OR I go on an absolute rampage of having Sour Patch Kids for breakfast followed by chips and dip for lunch and honeybuns for dinner. And the whole time I am telling myself that I don’t want to waste any food but that stuff cannot stay in my cabinets. I hear it calling my name in the middle of the night for goodness sake! This inevitably leads to two or three days of splurging in the name of getting our fridge and pantry back into a healthy state. A state in which I cannot rummage around for a snack and find much more than fruit and veggies.

I am aware this is terrible – especially since all it takes is one longing glance at a cupcake and I gain 6 pounds. I should just get a hold of myself and eat a few sweets every once in a while. But I can’t. I just can’t. So after a terrible binge last week resulting in my eating an entire jar of Tums, our house is back its to healthy-lifestyle-change self.

We are starting back up full-force our Eating Clean habits. Just in time for the holidays. Should be interesting…

  1. UGH I have no willpower either! Just you mentioning Sour Patch Kids (my FAVORITE) makes me want to run to the store right now for some. haha.. Good luck, I know y'all can turn it around! πŸ™‚

  2. Brooke says:

LOL!!!! When I first started watching my weight and working out I eliminated everything “bad” in my pantry. Now I have a couple items to snack on occasionally but it is too hard when you are just getting started.

  3. K-Koira says:

Maybe suggest to those helpful people that some alternative favorite snacks are oranges or dark chocolate. Still sweet, still sweet craving satisfying, but much healthier.

  4. Nicole says:

I always get unhealthy gifts from my husband's family and I have yet to make any comments so we either throw it all out of re-gift it. i definitely get what you mean, and with the holidays it won't be easy but hang in there!

  5. Tiffany says:

Awe, a chubaholic? That actually sounds kind of cute. I keep all unhealthy snacks out of my house to avoid bouts of splurging like that. Otherwise I do it too. And heck, sometimes I'm the one who brings the candy in hehe

And are you sure sour patch kids for breakfast is a no-no?

  6. Wow…we are THE SAME PERSON! No joke! My mom is always buying me shit and sending it home with me. Of course being a single lady in LA, I'll take all the free food I can get lol. And I am with you, even if the food is unhealthy I just cannot throw it away because i feel like it's a waste.
