Stuffed Burgers

My family and I made stuffed burgers for the first time on Father’s Day and they turned out amazingly delicious! If you’re a burger lover, these double-burgers with your toppings on the inside are for you.

Ingredients:
2 Pounds Ground Chuck
2 Tablespoons Hot Sauce
Salt & Pepper
6 Strips of Bacon
1/2 Onion, chopped
1 Cup Grated Chedder Cheese
(or 1 container Bleu Cheese)
6 Burger Buns
Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles…any toppings you want!

Get Grillin:

  • Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy, set aside on paper towel-lined plate.
  • In the bacon grease, saute the onions until tender.
  • Crumble desired amount of bacon and combine in a bowl with cheese and onions, set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine ground chuck, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Then form 12 ½ thick patties.
  • Form a small spoon full of bacon, cheese, and onion mixture. Place mixture in the center of 6 of the patties. Top each with a pattie and seal the edges tightly leaving no holes or cracks.
  • Grill the burgers over medium heat, flipping only once and avoiding squishing the burgers down. For well-done burgers, they should be cooked 15 minutes on each side. For medium they can be cooked 5 minutes on each side.
  • Garnish burgers with desired toppings and enjoy!

*My family made some Bleu Cheese and bacon burgers, and some Cheddar and bacon – both turned out great. We did use Frank’s Red Hot Sauce as well as some Louisiana hot sauce.

Oh wow — says the ex-burger lovin' vegan! As much as I love my new diet — I would be lying if I said I didn't on occasion miss a good burger!
