Fruit Salsa with CinniChips

Cue to mariachi band and grab yourself a fruity margarita cause I’m bringing you a Cinco De Mayo inspired dessert.

What You Need:

  • 2 Fuji Apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 8oz Bag of Frozen Peaches, thawed
  • 1 Pound Strawberries, chopped
  • 2 Kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 4 Tablespoons Fruit Preserves
  • 12 (10-inch) Flour Tortillas
  • Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon Sugar

Get Started:
In a large bowl, mix fruit and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the fridge for atleast 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with tinfoil. Slice tortillas into wedges using a pizza cutter. Coat tortilla slices with butter on one side and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned around the edges. Let cool and serve with the fruit salad.

*A friend of mine prefers her chips fried and then dipped in the sugar, which tastes great but adds calories. You can also subsitute frozen peaches for fresh if they’re in season! You can also cut the tortillas with a cookie cutter for fun shapes.

This dessert would be great after some of Jose’s Heavenly Tacos.

Oh man this is fantastic! Just in time for the Cinco de Mayo party I'm going to even though it's technically a Siete de Mayo party 😉 Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to try it!

  3. I saw this the other day (on another site) and LOVED it!! I actually like your recipe a little better, if I do say so myself 🙂 And also love Cinco de Mayo…even if you did just get mariachi band music stuck in my head, lol
