Frozen Hot Chocolate Shots

Well, it’s still winter but I’m wishing for the spring to hurry on up and send me some green grass and flowers. Heck, I’d even just take rain over snow. So what better drink for my inbetween-season limbo?

Frozen Hot Chocolate Shots!

What You Need:

  • 1 1/2 ounce(s) bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/2 cup(s) nonfat milk
  • 3/4 cup vanilla vodka
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows, for garnish
  • whipped cream wouldn’t hurt either!

Start Mixing:
Zap the chocolate in the microwave for about a minute, or double boil according to the directions on the package. Whisk until smooth. Stir in sugar and cocoa powder. Let the mixture cool down slightly and whisk in 1/4 cup milk. In a blender, mix together chocolate mixture, 1/2 cup milk, vanilla vodka, and ice until frothy. Divide evenly into four shot glasses and garnish with marhsmallows, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings. Enjoy!

Just an extra tidbit: I’ve tried making these suckers with hot chocolate packets several different ways and none turned out as chocolately and delicious as this recipe, so it’s what a recommend.

The picture is via Serendipity 3. I’ve just recently added going there to enjoy one of their frozen hot chocolates to my list of things to do…ASAP!

Most of us spend our lives as if we had another one in the bank.
